terms of service

These are the terms and conditions that you agree to by commissioning me, as of June 17, 2024. These terms are subject to change at any time, and apply to any orders following that date. If your order was finalized prior to that date, the terms at the time of purchase apply.By commissioning me, you are confirming that you have read and agreed to all of the terms and conditions stated below. Violating any of these terms will result in you being blacklisted from future commissions.

  1. I have the right to refuse any commission for any reason, without explanation.

  2. All commissions are for personal, non-profit, non-commercial use only, unless otherwise negotiated. You DO NOT have the right to mint/sell your commissioned work as an NFT.

  3. Payment is accepted only through PayPal, in USD. Full payment is required UP FRONT before I will start drawing a commission.

  4. I do not work with deadlines, unless negotiated beforehand. Wait time should not exceed PayPal's refund window of 180 days, but this is not my full-time job, and I have other obligations in my life, so please understand that commissioned artwork cannot always take priority. Feel free to contact me about the status of your commission after six weeks.

  5. In the interest of preventing burnout, art block, or other stressors, commissions will not always be completed in chronological order. I will certainly take into account the time elapsed since payment, but I may still work on other projects alongside commissions, so please do not read into it if I post any other work while your order is pending. For this reason, I also do not track orders through sites like Trello. As stated before, please wait at least six weeks before contacting about the status of your order.

  6. I have the right to terminate any commission even after drawing has begun for any reason. In such an instance, or if you request a refund while work is in progress, we will negotiate a partial refund based on percentage of completion.

  7. If you request a refund before I begin drawing you will receive a full refund. No refunds will be provided if the piece is completed before the refund request, even before final delivery.

  8. Revisions are prioritized during the sketch stage, and I will send you images to approve before I proceed beyond the sketch. I will do my best to accommodate minor alterations in later phases, but complex alterations will incur an additional fee. Please make sure that you are satisfied with the sketch before you approve it.

  9. Detailed commissions may require additional fees that we will negotiate on a case-by-case basis. If you are unsure of whether your request will incur an extra fee, please inquire and we can discuss.

  10. I only work in my own style, and will not intentionally mimic others, including that of any canon material involved with the subject.

  11. Please ask before posting or re-posting any of my work. Any posting, with permission, must be properly credited back to me, and please provide me with a link to any post you've made using my work.

  12. I have the right to post any commissioned artwork onto my social media sites, and to remove it from them. If you do not want your commissioned piece posted publicly, please notify me when placing the order.

  13. I reserve the right to ask you to remove my work from any online spaces if I feel that it is necessary.

  14. I cannot provide you with the .psd file or unwatermarked image file, nor will I make alterations to the work following delivery of the final image file.

  15. I will keep the final image of any commission in my files for a minimum of three months. After that period, I am under no obligation to keep the image in my drive.

frequently asked questions

how does the commission process work?

First, you send me the completed commission form via email and I will approve, or reject your order. If approved, I will then send you a Paypal invoice.Only after receiving payment in full will I begin working on your order. No exceptions.I will send a work in progress (WIP) preview after creating an initial sketch of the concept detailed in your order form. You might approve this first sketch if you're satisfied with it, or you will tell me exactly what you want changed, and I'll complete those revisions and send you an updated sketch. This process will continue until you approve the sketch. In general, I'm pretty flexible to whatever changes you need at this phase, within the parameters of the commission type. These changes are free of charge, within reason. After you approve the sketch, I will not make any more MAJOR changes (ex. composition, pose, etc.). Any such changes are liable to incurring additional fees, unless it's a mistake on my end.Unless you specifically request further updates, I will continue working the piece with check-ins at my discretion (ex. finalizing lighting schemes, questions on my end about different elements, if I've run into an issue that needs your input/approval). Please note that I will not provide daily updates--weekly is the highest-frequency that I will provide. After rendering the work according to your order, I will send you a final check-in preview for your approval. At this point, you can request minor adjustments, but I have the right to refuse them if they're too drastic, or charge additional fees if called for.Once you've given the final approval, I will provide you with the full-size image file via email.

how long will it take?

As art commissions are not my primary source of income and something I do on the side, they are generally not my first priority, and it may take me some time depending on the other obligations I have in my life.Turnaround can range from anywhere between a week, and a few months, so please understand this before you commission me. Waiting time should not exceed the PayPal refund period of 180 days, but life can be unpredictable!

What size will the image be?

If you do not have a specific size in mind, I usually use 2500x2500px at 300dpi as a starting point, and it might become bigger or smaller as the image progresses. If you have something in mind (ex. square icon, phone wallpaper, desktop wallpaper) please tell me this in your order so I can make sure to work within those proportions. If you are ordering with the intent to get the image printed (non-commercial only!) please mention that! And let me know the size at which you intend to print the image so I can help you get the best result.

What requests might incur fees?

In the past, I've mostly charged extra for detailed orders. Chances are, if you feel like the character design or background or concept you're requesting is detailed, it probably is.I will always inform you if I would like to charge for details and give you the USD amount that I decide for each case, and you are free to counter-negotiate, or to simplify your request.Other fees might come from additional elements in the image such as pets, other animals, props architecture, etc. Feel free to ask and send images so I can get a better idea!

What are you willing to draw? What are you not willing to draw?

Generally I'm pretty amenable to most requests, but below are some examples of what I'm willing to draw, what I'd be open to, and what I will not draw.As stated in the TOS, I reserve the right to refuse any order I do not feel comfortable with, without offering an explanation. If you have any questions regarding what I'm willing to draw or not, please feel free to reach out and inquire before placing an order!
